For the second week of Student Film Society, I chose the film Om Shanti Om, for the International Film choice for the semester. This 2007 Bollywood Film, Directed by Farah Khan, is a spectacle with vibrant lights, upbeat and catchy music, and a sweet and captivating storyline for all to enjoy. I also created the graphic seen below for this film, which we posted to our Instagram page, @ncsufilmclub.
Before our meetings start, we have the board members discuss the film that they chose and why. I was able to talk about Om Shanti Om and how this film drew me in the first time I watched it in one of my film courses at NC State, and I was so excited that I got to share it with the club members and see their reactions!

Student Film Society at NC State is always expanding on opportunities for its members and their future career in the film and entertainment industry. This year, I took on the role of creating a Student Film Society Spring Film Festival to give members a chance to step into the creative side of film production and work with each other to create short films that will be screened and judged by NC State film professors.

This opportunity will instill a sense of confidence in our members, and I am excited that I was able to take part in creating this festival and help members see their ideas on a big screen. After graduating from NC State, our members hope to expand on their passion for the film industry, so it is always beneficial to add to your skill set and create as many projects that have a lot of meaning and connection to your future career in film.

To the left is the graphic that I created to present the idea of the Film Festival to our members during one of our Fall meetings. I was able to create three groups of student members with each group having one board member as their team leader. These students get to decide as a group what genre, storyline, and other technical/creative elements they want included in their film.

Here is another example of the graphics I helped create for our Instagram account to announce the new board members for the 2022 year.
